I’m familiar with most of these site and they’re all worthy of your praise, great choices! Good luck to all the nominees too!

I blog for the love of travel and I hope be nominated next year for one of these… most likely the “Late Night Blogger” as I work all day and blog all night!

    Cheers! 🙂

  2. Great round-up of praise worthy blogs! My vote has been cast. Best of luck to all!

Would love to know more about how you select blogs for nomination and how one could be involved for future competitions? Is this off of personal preference or is there a nomination process?

So happy to see travel bloggers receiving recognition! Thanks for doing this!

  3. Thank you so much HostelBookers for including me amongst so many of my awesome colleagues! Great list of people who are so deserving.

Great list. Honored to be included. Sorry we couldn’t make the party, but can’t wait to hear all about it!

  5. How does a travel blog get nominated for one of these awards? I have been keeping a travel blog for about three years now, and would be interested in entering the competition.

    • Hi Dana – a panel at HostelBookers HQ decide the nominations. The awards for 2012 are over now, but we will be doing them again in November 2013.

  6. I agree with Dana…how do you get noticed and nominated? I’m traveling the world after the passing of both my parents, hitchhiking to India at the moment and keeping a no holds barred, no punches pulled blog about traveling and the search for life, love and happiness. The first year away I wrote every single day, and continue to update with the crazy things that happen to me.

Yes, yes, yes! Awesome awards! I’m wondering how to be nominated as well? I’ve studied Spanish in Barcelona when I was 16, run a half-marathon, become a vegetarian, worked as TV extra, volunteered at NY Fashion Week, blah blah blah.

That’s before I decided to move to Paris. There, I studied for one year, while also perfecting the art of backpacking around Europe on the cheap (Eurail, Eurolines, RyanAir, etc.) and doing more crazy things – going to a 15 person group interview all in French, sleeping in a train station in Austria, waiting 7 hours to get into Wimbledon, getting electrocuted by a fence in Switzerland, and telling muggers in Amsterdam “No, I’m not giving you my money.”

I’ve blogged about my quirky experiences and since I’m only 21, I plan on having many more! How can I get my blog to get noticed?
