Competition: Win the Ultimate Victorian Experience

Fancy a weekend stay in classic Victorian elegance? We’re talking winding staircases, wooden floorboards, antique fireplaces, bay windows and stained glass – a veritable 20th century Pemberley.

Of course, the deal does include those slightly historically-inaccurate but nonetheless essential conveniences of free internet, key card security, CCTV, bar and restaurant, laundry, 24 hour reception desk and TV lounge.

Oh…and did we mention it was free?

In a celebration of summer (or at least what’s left of it!) we’ve partnered up with Where I’ve Been to offer one lucky winner a two night stay at Palmers Lodge Hostel in London.

Dates of this Victorian experience are set for 20-21 August 2010. The winner will be staying in a double ensuite room at one of the most historically unique hostels in London. Why? Well, you just happen to be shacking up at the former home of Samuel Palmer of the Huntley and Palmers biscuit empire!

To enter the contest and win your own Victorian experience, all you have to do is:

1. Follow @hostelbookers and @whereivebeen on Twitter
2. @hostelbookers and @whereivebeen with the answer the following question:

‘Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Trafalgar Square are all landmarks in which city? #winhostel”

Make sure you include the #winhostel tag.

Simple.

Just make sure you enter soon, because the competition closes at 12pm CT on Friday 6 August 2010. Entries are limited to one per person.

Winner will be announced on the @whereivebeen Twitter page. If YOU are selected, make sure you Direct Message (DM) Where I’ve Been via Twitter within 24 hours of being notified. In your DM, include your real name and email address.

Goodluck travelers!
