The Results are In!
Last month we launched our biggest ever travel survey, to find out what makes travellers tick.
More importantly, it was a chance for you guys to give us feedback to us on what makes the best kind of travel experience, from booking your hostel to the facilities when you got there.
We were looking for all sorts of travel info, from how many countries you visited to fun stuff like whether you had ever got frisky in a hostel dorm.
Well now the results are in, and boy did you guys deliver!
Thousands of you got in touch with some amazing answers, and one lucky participant won a round the world trip for two!

Here are a few of the juiciest facts we found out...
Why do you choose to go traveling?
You’re an Adventurous Lot... 88% of you said you went travelling to “Discover new places”, and 84% go to “Have new experiences”.
What do you enjoy doing on your travels?
...And you’re pretty cultured too: Your top travel activities were sightseeing, trying the local food and visiting non-tourist areas. Apart from the 17% who just wanted to “get drunk”!
What type of accommodation do you choose when going on a trip?
You’re Budget Conscious: 56% of you would choose a hostel, and only 1% of you would choose a luxury hotel. Price was also the most important factor for you when choosing a hostel.
What type of facilities would you expect to see in a hostel?
You Scrub up Well: An overwhelming 94% said that Showers were the most important feature in a hostel! Pass the soap!
Which online methods do you use to keep in contact with people when you are away?
The Postcard is Dead: Only 25% would send a postcard – the rest use Facebook, Email or Skype to stay in touch on holiday.
Which nationality makes the better lovers?
Australians make the best lovers! Aussie lotharios got the vote for the smoothest moves on holiday, followed by lusty Italians, and...the bumbling Brits!?
Have you ever had a one night stand when you travel?
Saucy Stuff: Fancy a holiday romance? 30% of you go looking for love on your travels, and 35% say you’ve found it.
Don’t expect to find an everlasting love –only 15% of you have found a long term partner whilst travelling, and 31% of you owned up to having a one night stand.
But you’re still a pretty well-behaved bunch – 77% of you practice safe sex, and only 9% admit to cheating on a partner.
You can also sleep easy in your bunk bed, as only 14% admitted to getting frisky in a hostel dorm.
