Yeti Snowshoes series starts tomorrow in Vancouver

The Yeti Snowshoe series kicks off in Vancouver tomorrow (17th January 2009) and promises a host of fun at venues across the city and throughout British Columbia.

Celebrating the myth of the yeti as well as proving a great way to indulge in adventure sports in the great outdoors, the event comprises four separate races over the next two months.

Large numbers of young people, including backpacking and travelers staying in nearby hostels, will descend on Mount Washington tomorrow.

Races range from 5km to 10km and are gaining in popularity as the pursuit gains an ever-growing following.

Organizers will be making Atlas hiking-specific snowshoes available on the day of the event and are encouraging everyone to come along, have a laugh and meet new friends.

The next Yeti Snowshoe event will take place at Mount Seymour on 31st January 2009 with two more to follow in February and March.

Those who are planning to take part in the race should consider getting together with friends to make a group booking to take advantage of the discounts on offer.
