St Christopher’s Hostel Launches World’s First Live Dorm Cam
St Christopher's Inns have launched the Big Brother of backpacking, by installing a live webcam in the 14 bed dormitory of their London Bridge hostel.
Backpackers on holiday in the popular branch will be stars for their stay in the capital, with their antics being broadcast on a live feed, which can be viewed online at www.stchristopherslive.com.
The St Christopher's chain has 17 backpacker's hostels in major cities in England and Scotland, as well as Paris, Berlin, Bruges and Amsterdam, and in the Belushi's bars attached to the Edinburgh, Newquay, Covent Garden, and Shepherds Bush hostels.
Customers booking into this unique dorm will know everything about being on camera before they turn up. And just like Big Brother, soon viewers will be able to interact with fellow backpackers, sending them free beers and sounding off fog horns when they get bored!
Murray Roberts, Group Sales and Marketing Director at St Christopher's said: “In the test runs so far, our travellers are loving it."
“It's being used to wave at Mums and Dads on the opposite side of the world, celebrate birthday parties happening thousands of miles away and for catching up with friends who are hanging around our other webcams. Our customers can see the friends they make on the road and decide where they want to go next!”
