Pay to reserve with National Express
Hostel-staying travelers looking for cheap ways to get around may be interested to learn that National Express has introduced a seat reservations booking charge.
The UK-based coach company, which is popular with students and budget travelers, is to charge for reserving a seat on some selected journeys from May 17th.
Backpackers expecting to travel along National Express East Coast and National Express East Anglia routes may find they have to pay a £2.50 booking fee.
A National Express spokesperson commented: "We want to improve the on-board environment for our customers.
"We do find that people are often reserving multiple seats as they're not sure which train they are going to catch."
He added that the benefit of inviting people to pay a charge for reserving a seat will mean that fewer spaces are left occupied by just a reserved sign, enabling more people to sit where they desire.
Travelers flying into London Stansted Airport can use the service that will take them to London Victoria Coach Station 24 hours a day.
