New York Fashion Week to move location
New York's pivotal fashion experience is due to move venue, newspaper reports are suggesting today (3rd February 2009).
After being held for nearly 15 years at its current venue in Bryant Park, organizers of New York Fashion Week are expected to announce that the event will be moving to the Lincoln Center from 2010.
The move comes after park officials' complaints that the event had become too disruptive and unmanageable and could not continue to be held at the public space.
Fashion-conscious backpackers hoping to visit New York during the thrill and excitement of the internationally renowned event should book their hostel accommodation soon.
The event takes place twice a year and the first of the year will begin on 13th February 2009.
It is likely to cause a real buzz with 100,000 designers, buyers, fashion editors and models drawn to Manhattan to see the fall 2009 collections.
Over 60 designers will be participating and there will be hundreds of shows and exhibitions at art galleries and other spaces around Manhattan that travelers could come along to see.
