Heathrow 'voted worst airport'

London Heathrow Airport has been voted as the worst in the world in a new poll of 14,500 frequent travelers.

The survey, which was carried out among Priority Pass members, revealed that the transport hub "has failed to shrug off its global reputation as the one to avoid".

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport was voted as the second worst, while LAX took third place.

At the other end of the table, Singapore Changi Airport was named as the best in the world, followed by Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok and Amsterdam Schiphol.

Priority Pass spokesman Jonathan French commented: "The travelers who took part in this survey took almost 250,000 flights between them over the last year and that means they know a thing or two about airports."

In related news, those planning backpacking trips may be interested to learn that New Zealand was recently voted as the world's best long-haul destination by the readers of the Guardian and Observer newspapers.
