Gap year travel on Aeroflot's new A319
Backpackers considering gap year travel to Russia may be interested to learn that the national carrier Aeroflot has taken delivery of a new A319 aircraft.
This will add to the 56 A319/320/321 already operated by Aeroflot, which service passengers to and from Russia and an array of destinations.
Based at Sheremetyevo International Airport, which is located just outside Moscow, the airline operates domestic and international flights to 95 cities in 48 countries.
Hostel-staying travelers will be reassured to learn that the A319/320/321 planes are well-suited to medium range flights, complying with all safety, reliability and passenger comfort requirements.
The aircraft has been named D Mendeleev, in tribute to the Russian chemist and physicist, the author of the periodic law and the table of chemical elements.
Travelers planning a trip to Moscow on Aeroflot's new aircraft may wish to spend some time in the Moscow State Historical Museum and view the entertainment and attraction in Red Square.
