Flashpacking travelers can sample NYC Restaurant Week
Food enthusiasts who are in New York still have time to catch NYC Restaurant Week, which is on now and continues until 31st July 2009.
Despite its name the event actually takes place over a fortnight and is an opportunity for travelers on a budget to dine out at exclusive eateries for a discounted price.
Instead of opting for an evening of dining at their hostels, backpackers can sample a diverse range of cuisine from one of the 250 restaurants participating in the food festival.
Travelers can choose from French gastronomical delights, traditional American fry-ups, Japanese specialties and much more.
In-between eating lazy lunches and an evening of feasting, backpackers may wish to see some of the iconic sights and sounds of New York.
These include the well-known Empire State Building, Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is located on Museum Mile.
