Edinburgh festival for student travel

With the Edinburgh Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival now in full swing, travelers hoping to catch some of the action would be advised to book their hostels as soon as possible.

The popular event will encompass comedy, theatre, spoken word and performances of all kinds at venues dotted around the beautiful Scottish capital.

Backpackers on a budget may be tempted to make the most of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which kicked off on 7th August 2009 and continues until 31st August 2009.

However, the official Edinburgh International Festival commenced just a few days ago (14th August 2009) and will come to an end on 6th September 2009.

According to Lynn Gardner, writing for the Guardian, highlights of the event include Purcarete's Faust and the Forest Fringe.

Nic Green's Trilogy and Orphans is also recommended by the theatre critic.

For those hoping for some respite from the drama, exploring the national galleries could offer an escape from the festival frenzy.
