Brazil offers "all sorts" for travelers
Holidaymakers looking for variety may want to consider Brazil, according to the South American country's tourist office.
General manager of the office's London branch Tom Falcao said Brazil offers "all sorts of things" for travelers with skiing the only exception.
The capitals of the nine north-east states have a "good infrastructure for tourism" such as hotels and food plus the Amazon offers attractions for visitors.
Mr Falcao commented that "[there] people can cross up to Manaos to see the two opera houses built in the middle of the jungle in the 19th century".
Furthermore, those who fancy backpacking in Brazil can get there in seven hours on a flight from Lisbon, he added and Brits can get more for their pound due to the exchange rate.
The largest country in the continent, Brazil won its independence in 1822 and became a republic in 1889. Visitors might want to time their arrival to coincide with the famous Rio de Janeiro carnival in February.
