Berlin International Film Festival enters closing days

Berlin International Film Festival enters closing daysTravelers in Berlin still have time to catch the final few days of the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.

The event marks one of the most important dates in any film enthusiast's calendar and is set to draw thousands of film directors, actors and critics to the German capital.

Backpackers who wish to indulge in some celebrity-spotting should check hostels in the city are not already booked up, such is the demand for accommodation.

A programme of public film screening will see over 400 films shown to audiences across the city.

International and commercial successes will play alongside art-house low-budget films.

Established names will also feature, as well as up-and-coming industry newcomers.

The creative and dynamic buzz in Berlin makes it a popular destination for backpackers and for a few more days they will be sharing the city with A-listers.

Best First Feature will be judged by a three-person panel that includes Hannah Herzsprung.

The Hamburg-born actress starred in Vier Minuten (Four Minutes) by Chris Krauss.

She received the Bavarian Film Award as Best Young Actress in 2006 for her portrayal of an accomplished piano-playing prison inmate in the film.
