Belfast International Airport airbridge unveiled
Hostel-staying travelers making their way to Northern Ireland will now be greeted with a revamped airport upon their arrival in Belfast.
Belfast International Airport last week (June 19th) witnessed the completion of a £500,000 passenger airbridge, which forms part of a £10 million investment in the airport's facilities.
Known as Adergrove, after a nearby village, the airport is the second busiest in Ireland and is located over ten miles north-west of Belfast.
The opening of the airbridge comes as its main user - Continental Airlines - celebrates its fourth anniversary servicing passengers in Belfast.
John Doran, managing director of Belfast International Airport, commented: "It is wonderful that we are able to stand here today and announce more investment into passenger facilities.
"We are committed to enhancing the passenger experience, and indeed the tourist experience, as soon as you step on or off a flight at Belfast International Airport."
Tourism minister Arlene Foster added that the Northern Ireland Tourist Board was working in partnership with Belfast International Airport to improve facilities and encourage travelers to the region.
