Backpacking on Jet2.com from Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport has announced that three new summer routes have been introduced at the airport by Jet2.com.

This will be welcome news for hostel-staying travelers on a budget who will now be able to take advantage of flights to Kos, Venice and Gran Canaria.

The airliner has also pledged to increase the frequency of a number of its routes including to Lanzarote, Dalaman, Sharm el Sheikh and Tel Aviv.

Philip Meeson, from Jet2.com, said: "Manchester Airport is an extremely important base for us and we are committed to providing people in the North West with unrivalled choice when it comes to their holiday destination.

"It is fantastic to be able to offer people flying from Manchester a number of brand new holiday destinations direct from the region."

In other news, Ryanair has announced that it is discontinuing nine of its ten routes flying into and out of Manchester Airport in an effort to reduce costs.
