Artists Rooms collection to tour Scotland
Travelers in Edinburgh with a passion for art will be delighted to find out that the Artist Rooms Collection of Contemporary Art will be showing at galleries across Scotland.
The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh will be one of the galleries benefiting from the initiative.
Artist Rooms are made up of works originally owned by dealer and collector Anthony d'Offay, although the collection became the property of the government in February 2008.
John Leighton, director-general of the National Galleries of Scotland, commented: "Artist Rooms provides wonderful opportunities for audiences throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK to experience a diverse range of top-quality modern and contemporary art."
Travelers on a budget should book hostel rooms early to ensure they are in the city to catch the collection, which offers free admission.
Artist Rooms will be showing from 14th March 2009 until 8th November 2009.
The Artist Room shows will also tour Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Orkney and are expected to attract an unprecedented number of attendees keen to see works by internationally renowned names.
