42nd California International Antiquarian Book Fair
Travelers in San Francisco will be able to catch the 42nd California International Antiquarian Book Fair, which opens today (13th February 2009).
The three-day celebration of books finishes on 15th February 2009 and will feature nearly 250 rare booksellers from around the world.
Backpackers will do well to pack an engrossing book to read in hostels during their traveling experience and the antiquarian book fair will provide plenty of inspiration.
Taking place at the Concourse Exhibition Center, the event is organized by the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).
Members of both these associations will be able to enter the fair without charge, although tickets are cheap and won't blow a backpacker's budget.
There will also be lectures and seminars hosted by prominent literary experts and book collectors.
A number of rare and unique books will be available for sale and are worth going to see by the window-shopping backpacker.
The book fair is set to attract a wide range of book-lovers and is a great way for backpacking bookworms to meet like-minded people.
