The Korea Tourism Organisation is offering student tourists discounts on some of the country's best attractions.
Student travel discounts will be available to all ISIC Card holders and are provided in the recently published Benefits in Korea booklet.
This is not just a marketing gimmick either, with savings of up to 50 per cent on some attractions and heavy discounts for transport fares, including a 30-day youth pass cut down price of $30.
Other benefits include discounted tickets for the Everland theme park, Seoul theater performances and major palace attractions.
Reduced price offers on travel between Korea and nearby China and Japan could also be of interest to those on a world or regional tour.
Meanwhile, North Korea and South Korea are close to agreeing to the development of a border tourism area between both countries.
Officials are in talks to turn a 220 kilometer stretch of the border area into a tourism zone, which has become a haven for wildlife because of the lack of human activity.
