Backpacking tourists eager to join in the revelry at this year's Oktoberfest in Munich may struggle to find a seat, reports suggest.
Although the festival will not begin until 20th September 2008, sections of the German media already claim the beer festival's famed tents are close to capacity.
Angela Ofenstein, of the 7,000-seat Hofbrau tent, told The Local: "The customers sense that the demand has increased and already reserved seats in January."
This year will be the 175th Oktoberfest celebration, running until 5th October 2008 and looks set to emulate last year's success which attracted more than six million attendees.
If reports are true, tourists keen on attending may have to rely on cancellations to secure a primary spot in one of the tents.
However, with a total of 14 tents to choose from this may not be such an impossible task.
