Despite its expensive image, there are still plenty of places in London where budget
backpacking tourists can eat cheaply, one expert has claimed.
There are of course lots of expensive restaurants too. However, there are plenty of restaurants offering "excellent value for money" for tourists that do their research.
This revelation comes after research by Kayak.com found that 79 percent of travelers have altered their travel plans since April 2008 as a result of the economic downturn.
But Ian Rumgay, European communications manager at TripAdvisor, remarks that it is still possible to have a good time on a budget in the UK's capital city.
He said: "There are a lot of attractions that are free and also, if you shop around, there are a lot of restaurants which offer excellent value for money.
However, Mr Rumgay noted that London still had a lot of work to do to convince budget international travelers of its merits.
