
The small Caribbean island's of St Kitts and Nevis is set to turn to steam to power its tourism industry.
Following the discovery of geo thermal energy in the volcanic mountain range of Nevis, officials are keen to use the clean fuel to power hotels and hostels across its islands.
Tourism minister Richard Skerritt told Travel Mole recently that "low environmental impact" tourism will become the destination's top priority.
He also claimed that any new developments will be supported by "a resurgent agricultural industry which will allow us to increasingly supply local food and drink".
Steam-powered generators on Nevis are expected to be up and running by the beginning of next year and will provide enough energy for some neighboring islands too.
