The Spanish resort of Menorca comes to life during the summer months, one expert has suggested.
While
backpacking tourists will find little to do in the winter months, when everything is shut, the island boasts relaxing, "beautiful beaches" and a "busy capital" during the summer.
Paul Bradley, spokesperson for the Spanish Property Owners Guild, also notes that there is more to this popular Balearic Island than generic holiday resorts.
He said: " In the resorts, you could be anywhere in the world. But in the original towns and villages each island has its own culture, cuisine, architecture even language.
"Menorca is very famous for being home to Lady Jane Hamilton - mistress of Lord Nelson. The result of her influence is the islands own brand of Juniper Gin."
The four Balearic Islands are located between Spain and the North African Coast and comprise Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
