This year's San Fermin Festival in Pamplona, Spain proved a new experience for four tourists taking part in this year's event, who were left with minor injuries.
The traditional annual Spanish festival sees participants fleeing from around six bulls released along a narrow 850 meter street.
At least nine people are thought to have been injured at this year's first run today, July 7th. The event has been taking place in Pamplona for more than 500 years.
Four of those injured are thought to have been tourists taking part in the run, but they are likely to manage a trip back to their
hostels and hotels all in one piece, reports AFP.
Most of those injured suffered cuts, bruises and minor concussion.
San Fermin culminates in participating animals facing matadors in bull rings.
Animal rights groups also attended the festival to protest against the bullfighting.
The festival, which began on Sunday, July 6th, runs for nine days and is expected to attract thousands of visitors.
