The Estonian capital of Tallinn is one of the most beautiful European cities, according to Lonely Planet.
Backpacking tourists are treated to its "astonishingly well-preserved" historic buildings and cultures in addition to a wide selection of restaurants and bars.
Travel editor for Lonely Planet, Tom Hall, also claims that the city is becoming more glamorous, embracing increasingly sophisticated shops and hostels.
He said: "The reason people are attracted to Tallinn in the first place is its mediaeval old town, which is stuffed full of cafes, restaurants and clubs - it's a very pleasant place to settle in for a couple of days.
However, Mr Hall also remarks that tourists can also "go and just experience some of the bars and the clubs, but during the day you can recover by going to some of the cafes and restaurants and shops in the old town square".
Estonia is also not far away from several other European hotspots, including its Baltic Sea coastline and the Finnish capital of Helsinki, which is around 40 miles away across the Gulf of Finland.
