Backpacking tourists are likely to be puzzled by the latest addition to the New York skyline, made entirely of Erector Set pieces.
But while this newest example of corporate art serves as a homage to the surrounding skyscrapers, it is also likely to excite anyone with a childhood love of Meccano or Lego.
The 65-foot monument resembles a modern day skyscraper and was constructed entirely from Erector Set pieces by over 20 people using nothing but screwdrivers.
US artist Chris Burden's gleaming new project is dubbed by its creator a "poetic interpretation" of the 30 Rock Building.
Mr Burden told Reuters: "It's very reflective, sort of like a faceted jewel, really picks up the light."
The six-storey building will be on display until July 19th at the Rockefeller Center and will have 24-hour guards to deter potential climbers from traversing the sculpture piece.
