Holidaygoers can find the "real Spain" further inland, according to the Spanish Property Owners Guild (SPOG).
Backpacking tourists keen on finding an escape from the "oversaturated" tourist areas along the coast have been urged to visit the "mountainous landscapes" ten miles inland.
Seeking hostels inland will also mean that tourists can avoid the beachside holiday scams that prevail along the popular coastal regions, reports suggest.
Spokesperson for SPOG Paul Bradley insists that the real Spain is there to find for those with enough interest to look.
He said: "Take La Vinuela, for example. A beautiful valley surrounding a reservoir about ten miles in from the coast north of Torre del Mar.
"It has dramatic mountainous landscapes, rolling hills, olive trees and peasants farming - very much as they have done for centuries."
Meanwhile, Abbey Credit Cards has suggested that Spain is one of the cheapest destinations for families to visit during the European peak seasons.
