Grapes have become a central theme for one spa in Hungary, it has been revealed.
Anti-ageing qualities of grapes have become the inspiration for the new vinotherapy spa at the Andrassy Kuria Hotel in Tokaj.
Backpacking tourists can take time out on their travels and indulge in some relaxing treatments in between visiting historic sites in the renowned wine region.
In particular, the treatments make use of extracts rich in polyphenol, an anti-oxidant similar to vitamin C.
Hungary's capital Budapest has already won itself some international prestige for spa treatments having been named the official City of Spas in 1934, according to the Budapest Tourism Authority.
"Budapest really gained its reputation as a city of spas in the 1920s, following the first realisation of the economic potential of the thermal waters in drawing in visitors," it states.
