Backpacking rail passengers face disruption on services throughout France tomorrow, May 22nd, as the French railway workers' 48-hour strike reaches its halfway point.
The strike began on May 21st and is being held in protest at government plans to toughen pensions rules.
While Eurostar services will continue to operate throughout France, officials have warned that access to services may be restricted.
The strike has already caused widespread disruption throughout the Parisian suburbs and connecting regions.
However, two-thirds of fast-running TGV services were still in operation, according to the SNCF national railway company.
Officials have also claimed that trainlines, flights and airport access and transport could also be affect
backpacking plans.
Meanwhile, Eurostar services between the UK and Brussels are expected to return to normal today following 24-hour strikes by Belgian railway workers on May 21st.
