Backpacking tourists at Europe's famed theme park Disneyland Paris could soon be passing their queuing time by watching Formula 1, it has been revealed.
According to reports, Formula 1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone is keen to host the new French grand prix event at the resort.
But French newspaper La Figaro has reported that plans could be delayed because of a disagreement over $31 million of funding required to complete the project.
The newspaper notes that the theme park's owners Euro Disney are refusing to provide the cash, claiming it is the responsibility of the French government.
But time is running out for the Paris grand prix as Magny-Cours, the rural French course it is set to replace, prepares for its final grand prix next month.
In an interview with L'Equipe at the beginning of the week Mr Ecclestone even suggested that if a new venue is not agreed in time the French grand prix may not happen at all.
