Cannes Film festival will begin its 12-day schedule with the Brazilian Film Blindness today (May 14th), it has been revealed.
Staying true to the independent film roots that drove it to fame, the film is the latest high profile piece from director Fernando Meirelles, who shot to stardom after his success with City of God.

backpacking tourists Cannes is often an opportunity to see some Hollywood's A-list celebrities rubbing shoulders with other tourists along the French Riviera.
But with this year's excellent film line-up celeb-spotting may not be such a high priority.
Another Brazilian film Line of Entry, Clint Eastwood's Changeling and an epic tribute to revolutionary Che Guevara entitled Che are also likely grab their fair share of headline attention.
