A mobile Holocaust memorial has come to the end of its journey around Germany, it has been revealed.
The train, which features an exhibition commemorating the thousands of children killed by the Nazis during the Shoah, has taken up residence close to the former concentration camp of Auschwitz in Poland.
This will no doubt serve as another reason for
student travel parties interested in finding out more about Europe's most renowned atrocity to visit the famed site.
According to the organiser of the exhibition, Hans Minow, it was a humbling experience that Poland was selected as the final resting place.
He told the BBC: "It is not easy to confront ourselves because we are not the victims but we are the sons and daughters of the perpetrators."
However, controversy has dogged the plight of the train through the country, with railway operator Deutsche Bahn initially asking for a fee for the exhibition to use its network.
Tourists can see the exhibition at Oswiecim train station.
