Backpacking tourists taking a trip around Europe can now access several new UK destinations on the same ticket through Eurostar.
A total of 130 UK towns and cities including Oxford and Brighton are now accessible on through fare tickets following the scheme's extension to 65 stations.
According to Simon Montague, director of communications for the rail operator, Eurostar can even offer a cheaper alternative to flights around Europe.
He told EADT: "With through fares at prices as good as or better than those offered by regional airlines, millions more UK residents have much greater choice in they way they travel to the Continent."
Eurostar carried more than two million passengers in the first quarter of 2008, with European cities such as Lille, Paris and Brussels as little as half an hour away from London.
Tourists planning ahead even have the luxury of booking through fares to and from UK destinations up to 84 days in advance.
