Those keen on getting away on a budget ski holiday before the season is out should head for the US, following more snowfall.
Industry authorities are preparing for what is being hotly tipped as a "record year" for the ski season, following more snow fall across Colorado and Vermont earlier this week.
Ski accommodation is also likely to be cheap for many travelers, with the US dollar weak against many international currencies as a result of the current financial turmoil.
Michael Berry, president of the US National Ski Areas Association told the Associated Press that 2007-08 "may very well be a record year".
He added: "It's actually been one of those rare years where it's been winter from coast to coast."
Some ski resorts have indicated that they intend to remain open into May, while many in the industry are hoping that visitor levels will top the current 58.9 million record set in the 2005-06 season.
