Britons abroad crave Branston Pickle and other traditional brands more than they miss the pub, according to new research.
A YouGov poll of 2,000 ex-pats revealed that although Christmas and the NHS topped the list, Britons suffer from Heinz spaghetti hoops and baked beans almost as much.
However, the research, conducted on behalf of Foreign Currency Direct, also revealed that 11 per cent do not miss any British traditions while a further eight per cent could not think of anything in particular.
The research also revealed that women miss traditional brands more, with 13 per cent more craving British culinary brands compared to nine per cent of men.
Peter S Ellis, chief executive officer of Foreign Currency Direct explained that UK tourists and
backpacking enthusiasts should take the opportunity abroad to enjoy other cultures traditions.
However, he did urge that Britons "thoroughly research the local amenities and resources of their chosen destination" before setting off to somewhere new.
