London's Heathrow Airport welcomed the arrival of the world's largest aircraft yesterday.
Singapore Airlines completed the successful first commercial flight of an Airbus A380.
Flight SQ308 landed in Heathrow at 15:05 GMT carrying over 400 passengers who had boarded the service for the aircraft's inaugural voyage from Sydney to Singapore and then on to London.
Aviation minister Jim Fitzpatrick joined minister of state for business, enterprise and regulatory reform Pat McFadden to welcome the A380.
Mr McFadden said: "Today's flight represents a significant milestone. The Airbus A380 is a remarkable aircraft - quieter, cleaner, smarter and greener than existing commercial planes."
Dubai-based airline Emirates will be the next carrier to launch an A380 service to London.
