Bulgaria is the best destination for those seeking budget hotels and
hostels, research by Teletext Holidays has revealed.
The Baltic country was found to have the cheapest pint of beer compared to other destinations, at a mere 49 pence.
According to the researchers, it's also an all-weather destination, offering a good handful of cultural sights as well as providing lots of beaches along its Black Sea coast.
It is a popular ski destination in the winter too, offering conditions similar to those found in the Alps.
Bulgaria also offers its fair share of luxury indulgencies too, with the Baltic country becoming increasingly popular among German tourists seeking that little bit extra from a holiday destination.
However, the survey also revealed that Spain and France have become more expensive so have fallen down the top tourism destination list.
Ash Makkar of Teletext Holidays told the Daily Mail that interest in new destinations was growing as holiday-goers become more adventurous.
"Interest in countries such as Morocco and India has grown significantly, proving people are becoming more adventurous when it comes to booking a trip abroad," he told the newspaper.
