Amy Winehouse's music is the favoured choice for
backpacking, a recent poll has revealed.
According to research by TNT, those on
gap year travel selected the Rehab singer ahead of other stars such as Jack Johnson, U2 and Mark Ronson.
Mr Ronson's Version album did however top the album list for
backpackinggap year travel enthusiasts alongside Michael Jackson's Thriller.
Hazel Williams, event director of the TNT Travel Show, told Gigwise that it is often comforting to listen to familiar music while
backpacking away from home.
She noted that MP3 players were becoming and "increasingly important" part of the
backpacking inventory.
The MP3 player received 32 per cent of votes in the poll and was deemed even more important than a mobile phone, according to the magazine.
Meanwhile, a two-disc version of Amy Winehouse's Back to Black album has moved up two places to top the UK album charts.
