backpacking around Europe over the Easter break are advised to book
hostels early in destinations such as Barcelona to avoid disappointment.
According to Thomas Cook, traditional city breaks to locations such as Barcelona, Paris and Rome are particularly popular over the Easter break, when "families take advantage of the kids being off and jet off for early summer sun".
To avoid disappointing interruptions to their trips those embarking on
gap year travel or
student travel are advised to "book in advance to ensure people get the destination and dates they want".
Meanwhile, according to the Daily Mail, tourists could face further disruptions to their travels abroad, with the British Airline Association (Balpa) poised to vote for strike action close to the Easter period.
Britons account for the largest group of foreign visitor's to Spain, according to officials, with 16.3 million arrivals reported in 2007.
