Irish carrier Aer Lingus has joined US budget airline JetBlue in a partnership agreement to share booking systems.
The new system means that from April 3rd, customers will be able to book connecting tickets on the flights of both airlines, using either company's booking engine.
Passengers will be able to book tickets between Ireland and JetBlue's 40 destinations in the US, including Seattle, Denver, Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas.
Aer Lingus chief executive, Dermot Mannion, commented: "We are proud to be pioneering the model of linking low fare networks and offering Aer Lingus customers the ability to easily connect across the US through JetBlue's Terminal 6 at JFK."
Travellers to Ireland will check-in luggage at JetBlue domestic airports and collect it at Dublin or Shannon.
Aer Lingus passengers will be able to clear security and then board domestic JetBlue flights at JFK airport after a trip on the airtrain to Terminal 6.
