
People are becoming more adventurous with their holiday choices, but the standard beach holiday remains "really popular" with all types of tourists.
According to Which? magazine, more and more student travelers and backpackers are seeking out new "experiences" as part of their holiday.
The Association of British Travel Agents (Abta) hot spots for 2008 include China's Beijing for the Olympic Games, Singapore and Australia, which is set to host the Rugby League World Cup in October.
Head of research at Which?, notes that destinations "like Bulgaria and Turkey are on the agenda a lot more".
She said: "They're looking for things like bungee jumping and skydiving and canoeing and horse riding and all the rest of it, so I think that is set to continue."
"For people with families, they want hassle-free destinations so a lot of the time they're going to go on your beach holidays or your Euro-camp holidays - camping in France or whatever," she added.
