EasyJet has announced that it is to stick to the single cabin bag limit, it has been revealed.
As of January 7th, the rules concerning the amount of hand luggage allowed on flights will be relaxed across UK airports - although some, such as East Midlands and Exeter are choosing not to relax their policies.
Seven of the 14 airports from which easyJet operates are due to lift their restrictions on Monday, including Stansted, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
Andy Harrison, easyJet's chief executive explained that there is "massive scope for customer confusion
where UK airports are adopting different policies".
"Also some of the major BAA airports are using the relaxation of the one bag rule as a pretext to further increase passenger charges."
However, Mr Harrison warned of the hidden agenda of some BAA airports that are "using the relaxation of the one bag rule as a pretext to further increase passenger charges".
The Department for Transport has stated a total of 21 airports have met the requirements to allow more than one item of hand luggage so far.
