The tower of Orihuela Cathedral in Alicante in Spain is to be opened up for the first time to tourists, it has been revealed.
Orihuela's local tourism department has decided to open up the tower to allow the regions' Christmas tourists an exclusive glimpse from the highest point in the 16th century catholic cathedral.
Tourism officials are busy cleaning the tower before access is granted, which will only be viewable via guided tours, reports Typically Spanish.
Visitors will no doubt speculate as to why the tower has never been opened before, as they marvel at the fantastic views offered from the top of the tower.
Unfortunately, the opening will only be temporary, with the tower scheduled for closure once the Christmas period is over.
Meanwhile, an ice rink is also being installed in the town's Ociopia center, providing additional yuletide entertainment from the December 16th 2007 until January 6th 2008.
