The ministry of tourism in India is to promote the country as a holiday destination by holding food festivals, it has been revealed.
Celebrations of Indian cuisine will be held nationally and internationally in an attempt to encourage visitors to the country.
One such festival is due to take place in Pinjore's Mughal Gardens, with the purpose of attracting domestic as well as international visitors.
Pinjore's 2nd heritage festival will run from December 7th to 9th 2007.
The tourism minister, Kiran Choudhry, said the variety of cuisine would provide a food extravaganza, with attendees encouraged to sample all the food on offer in the specially set-up food markets.
The Pinjore gardens have gained eminent association with the recently inaugurated Kalka-Shimla Rail Track world heritage site.
