The arrest of a British school teacher for blasphemy in Khartoum, Sudan will likely serve as a reminder to tourists and travelers to stay informed when traveling to a foreign country.
Gillian Gibbons was arrested after letting a school children name the class teddy bear after the Muslim prophet Muhammed.
In what has been described as an "innocent mistake", this will no doubt be a reminder to tourists to ensure they understand a destination country's customs, traditions and laws.
Robert Boulos, director at Khartoum's Unity High School, told the BBC: "This is a very sensitive issue. We are very worried about her safety.
"This was a completely innocent mistake. Miss Gibbons would have never wanted to insult Islam."
Advice and important facts that travelers should be aware of when visiting foreign countries is available on the Foreign Office website.
Information is also usually available on the respective countries tourism board websites.
It is unclear whether Ms Gibbons will be charged, but she could face a penalty of 40 lashes, according to reports.
