Artefacts stolen from Indonesia's oldest museum have been recovered, it has been revealed.
The five ancient statues, dating back to the 7th and 9th centuries, are among nine pieces to have gone missing from the museum.
Central Java's 100-year-old Radya Pustaka museum is still missing four other items alleged to have been stolen by the museums curator and replaced with fakes.
He and three other members of staff at the museum have been arrested on suspicion of the theft, standing accused of having sold the stolen goods to a businessman for around £25,000, reports Reuters.
The acquisition of these artefacts is a positive cap to a dismal weekend in Indonesia, which saw it rocked by a succession of earthquakes and a flaming bus tragedy in Borneo.
At least 12 passengers were killed in the bus blaze, with at least six people having been killed as a result of the earthquakes.
