The chief executive officer of Marriot International Hotels has spoken out about what he referred to as a "less-than-efficient visa process" in the US's current immigration system.
This announcement follows predictions that over 100 million Chinese are likely to travel outside of their country in 2020.
Speaking at the American Chambers of Commerce in Mexico City, CEO Bill Marriot called for "better visa and entry systems" in order to get a share of visitors.
He said: "An important part of being a good neighbor means contributing to the communities in which we do business. We call it sustainability."
"Movement of people and ideas in the global arena is a sure bet, we must find a way to make it work," he added.
Earlier this year, Sinn Fein leader Jerry Adams told the Guardian newspaper that he regularly suffered delays at the hands of US immigration services, often resulting in him missing important diplomatic meetings.
