A Palestinian man who stowed away on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore last Thursday has sparked a security review in Malaysia.
27 year-old Osama Shublaq managed to cling in the nosecone wheel well last Thursday, only to find his efforts thwarted when he fell out after landing, where he was promptly arrested.
Malaysian Transport minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy said: "The airport is a security area, this should not have happened."
Mr Choy has said he expects a report as early as Tuesday to try and ascertain how Mr Shubaq managed to evade airport security.
But things could have been far worse if the plane had been in the air for longer than half an hour, with experts suggesting that Mr Shubaq would probably have frozen to death.
The plane's pilot told the Straits Times that Mr Shubaq had managed to survive because the temperatures only dropped to minus 15 degrees for six minutes on the short flight.
