Thin-skinned female travellers on their way to Kenya might want to steer clear of the village of Nachu, it has emerged.
A troop of vervet monkeys have taken to insulting and harassing local women, causing a food shortage.
The misogynistic monkeys throw stones at the female residents, as well as chasing them away from the nearby crops.
Lucy Njeri, one of the abused, said that the women have taken to disguising themselves to cope with the sexist simians.
"When we come to chase the monkeys away, we are dressed in trousers and hats, so that we look like men," she commented.
"But the monkeys can tell the difference and they don't run away from us and point at our breasts. They just ignore us and continue to steal the crops."
Local MP Paul Muite has begged for help from the Kenyan Wildlife Service, but faced a derisory response when the Parliament collapsed in laughter at his reports of the mocking monkeys.
Eighty-year Nachu resident James Ndungu told the BBC: "For God's sake, the government should take pity on us and move these monkeys away because we do not want to abandon our farms.
"I beg you, please come and take these animals away from here so that we can farm in peace."
