
A gun once owned by Elvis Presley has been stolen from a Memphis museum as fans commemorated the 30th anniversary of the legendary singers' death.
The piece of memorabilia was taken from the Elvis After Dark museum in Graceland and was discovered on Friday when visitor noticed that one of the glass panels looked unfastened.
Once the museum officials reviewed the security camera footage they discovered images of a man accessing the display case and taking the 9mm Smith & Wesson gun at around midnight.
The theft was despite the numerous fans that were gathered in the area to celebrate the anniversary of the singers' death, and queued up for hours in order to view their idol's grave.
Presley died in Graceland on August 16th 1977, aged 42, and was buried in the house garden.
Nicknamed "The King", Presley achieved fame early and managed to sell one million copies with only his first album.
