A gunman has killed two on a shooting spree in Kansas City, Missouri.
Two more were wounded at the incident, which took place at a crowded shopping centre.
The shooting took place on Sunday afternoon at Ward Parkway Centre at around 16:00 local time.
Two people were killed in the mall's car park before two more people were wounded inside the building.
A police officer later shot the assailant dead.
Police spokesman Tony Sanders said: "It was just mass chaos, as you can imagine, on a Sunday in a crowded mall.
"Everybody was leaving the mall when the officers ran inside. They confronted the man and after confronting him, shot and killed him," he added.
Earlier in the day an elderly woman was found dead at a house not far from the shopping centre.
A police officer who stopped a man driving the dead woman's car was also shot in the arm.
Police are investigating whether the incidents are connected.
